Sonja’s Story

I began my clerical journey at 14, working in a high school office when WordPerfect and Microsoft Word were just emerging and computers were just starting to have hard drives. This early start sparked a lifelong passion for supporting businesses behind the scenes.

In 1993, I moved to Surrey and worked as a temp with Drake International and Kelly Employment Services, thriving in dynamic roles across sectors like the stock exchange, automotive warehousing, and elevator manufacturing. I handled reception, accounts payable, data entry, and word processing, embracing every learning opportunity.

In 2000, I launched Sonja’s Office Services to support small businesses in Surrey and eventually in 2003 in Vernon while spending more time with my son. I assisted with travel arrangements, email responses, invoicing, collections for customers, bookkeeping (Excel and QuickBooks), and report formatting.

In 2007, my family and I moved to Falkland where I completed a medical transcription certificate. For 12 years, I provided transcription services remotely, discovering the potential of virtual support.

In 2016, I opened a process serving franchise in Kelowna and Vernon. Over the span of 4 years I grew these 2 locations while also helping the business as a whole doubled in revenue during that time. After these four years and a move to Kamloops, I decided to return to my true passion in helping businesses succeed.

Since April 2020, I have fully embraced virtual assistance, offering a wide range of remote administrative services to small businesses, especially in the trades sector by providing exceptional customer support as well as assisting on staying on top of the administration required to run a business.

My motto is simple: “Your Success is My Reward.” There’s nothing more fulfilling than watching a business thrive and knowing I played a part in that journey.
